In Fall/Winter 2022, I hired Central Valley Environmental (CVE) to remove asbestos-covered ducting from the crawl space/subfloor of my Fresno residence (approx 100 linear feet of the stuff). I had called about 9 companies in/around the Fresno/Clovis area listed by the state of California as licensed for such work. (PROTIP: Doing so is an absolute must, because there is extreme price gouging in the industry. Estimates were as high as $10k, and I’d say the median was in the $4-5k range. CVE’s estimate was $2k-to-$2.5k [final cost was $2400].) My point of contact was Brett Menges, who is a consummate professional and a personable, respectful, competent, and on-point sort of dude. Conscientious, communicative, reliable. The work was scheduled in a timely way; the workers were on time and efficient, coming in and banging it out like pros, and establishing a safe containment area; and CVE connected me with a company (Bovee Environmental) who came in the next day to do an air clearance test ($400) that, indeed, verified the air in the basement and crawl space was free of asbestos. You really can’t ask for much more when you’re having this sort of work done – especially when, again, this is an industry rife with companies who are either looking to rip consumers off and/or are hamstrung by union costs (I am pro-union; but, in my research, I learned this is part of the issue in that industry).

So, I strongly recommend CVE. They offered the best pricing relative both to their industry competitors and to my own local HVAC guy (the one who is doing the duct replacement, and who happens also to be licensed for asbestos removal). You get that highly competitive pricing along with responsive personnel like Brett Menges. Not to sound too weird about it, but having your home’s ducts ripped out is an oddly personal affair. You’re left sitting there in the cold, hoping nothing gets messed up, and that you’re not somehow left with asbestos in the air. I would’ve left it all alone if the asbestos ducts weren’t the source of a tangible issue (after 40+ years, asbestos covers start separating, greatly diminishing the HVAC system’s efficiency, which sucked especially hard given that we have a relatively new high-end Carrier unit – we bought the house this past March, so figured we should get the most out of what we bought).

In sum, if this is work you really do need to have done (as I believe we did), then go with CVE. Easy choice.

Hello, i had some Home Structure Damage, a car crashed into my house and needed abatement, i called CVE, and talked with Mike Flores he was very knowledgable and efficiant in taking care of all the structure damage removal, making sure the enviornment of my home was safe and back to normal, i was very pleased on how the company handled my situation in a fast timely manner , Mike and his crew did a great Job i would highly reccomend CVE in any future needs Thank you very much.
