NCBE’s 2022 Golf Tournament

CVE was excited to participate and contribute to NCBE’s 2022 Golf Tournament effort to raise over $10,000 for the North Bay Construction Corps.

What is the North Bay Construction Corps?

It’s a construction career exploration opportunity and a basic skills training program for North Bay high school seniors in their last semester. It prepares young people for a rewarding career in the building industry.

Students in the Corps program will meet five Saturdays in April and May to learn about construction safety, get certified in 1stAid/CPR and to begin hands-on activities that are important in different construction trades. After students graduate from high school in June, there is a one-week, 40-hour intensive career exploration and basic skill building session, followed by a two-week Boot Camp (for students who haven’t reached the age of 18 – with a $750 Trades Scholarship upon completion) or a paid internship earning entry-level wages.

The goal is to prepare the young men and women students who participate for entry-level positions in the high-paying, gratifying world of construction.

Students will develop basic building skills and become experienced with hand tools and power tools.  The training sessions are conducted by local construction industry professionals to ensure that students are learning real-world skills.

In 2022, there are two Chapters in Sonoma County. There is also a Chapter in Marin managed by the Marin Builders Association.
